The Birds & The Bees

We are feeding the birds and making bug hotels. Food is short for birds at this time of year and they need all the help they can get. By providing them with food and water they are more likely to survive the winter. By making a number of bug hotels you will increase the number of bees and insects in your garden - increasing the number of pollinators (which is great news for your plants) and providing natural food for the birds.

Somewhere to Start a Family

Just providing a nest box isn’t the answer. Animals consider numerous factors before they set up home. Click on the button below to find out about how you can help us provide habitats and nesting boxes for hedgehogs, garden birds, bees and bugs, bats, and owls.

Going Bats

Bats are in massive decline in the uk. In Devon we are lucky enough to have 16 different species of bats but they are under threat. We work with the Devon Bat Group to identify the species and locations of bats in the parish, and to help increase their numbers by providing artificial roosts at appropriate locations. If you know of a location where bats are residing or often seen please let us know be emailing [email protected]

If you would like to come on one of our "Bat Walks" where we will be using electronic "bat detectors" to locate and identify the different species please email us
